The program will start at Vinhlong new boat station. Boat trip to visit the brick kilns where you can see how the local people create beautiful potteries from clay. Our boat will go along the floating village. We will see how to farm catfish on Mekong river. Crossing the Co Chien River, we will proceed the cruise up-stream on the Tien river, a large arm of the Mekong, we will cruise under the spectacular My Thuan Bridge.
A stop can be made at Tân Hòa temple, an ancient communial house built hundred fifty years ago. Back on board, we will cruise towards Sa Dec on small canal with a optional lunch on boat. On both sides of the river, locals are recolting water-hyacinth, another famous Mekong delta product used for furniture and baskets.
We will reach Sa Dec town around noon. The town is appearing like a little “Venice” with numerous narrow canals, with various kinds of activities on the banks. You will disembark at Sa Dec local market, one of the biggest markets of the delta.
An optional visit of Sa Dec charming and peaceful town can be arranged by your own, walking along its narrow streets and beautiful old houses dating from the last century, some old Chinese temples, including the primary school of Marguerite Duras famous writer. The excursion will end at Sa Dec town. Your car will pick you up in SaDec town.
